Amy Kirkland, RN, founded NURSES & Medical Staffing in 1987.  After successfully assisting Long Term Care with their per-diem Nurse and Nursing Assistant needs for five years Amy knew LTC had deeper needs.

In 1992, HMD Consulting was founded to provide solutions beyond providing an agency nurse for tomorrow's day shift.  Toward this end, Amy has worked closely with many facilities assisting them in creating solutions that will work over the long term.

Amy brings you years of nursing experience coupled with years of running successful businesses.  As such, she offers you a very unique perspective that demands Quality Care within the constraints of today's underfunded payment system.  Her experience and approach to consulting enables clients to unlock the barriers standing in the way of quality care.  In doing so clients are better able to interact with those they serve, develop their staff and utilize our external resources to enhance their internal talents.

Amy constantly challenges others to focus on their primary customer, the resident or client that is their health care consumer.  These people are the reason for coming to work every day.  She also has the ability to attract and retain the best people in the profession, whether for staffing or consulting.  This comes from almost 15 years of recruitment experience.  "If we can assist our customers in creating a more resident focused, mission driven, and inviting work place, our clients will be able to continue or begin to attract top notch nurses, nursing assistants, managers, and all the staff from dietary to housekeeping that are necessary to run a dynamic, robust LTC community.  By paying attention to just those issues first, our facilities have a much better chance of coming through their care issues and prospering."
